My local town of Mount Airy, Maryland was first incorporated in 1894. To recognize this anniversary I am taking on a personal project to capture the image of the town 125 years later. I’ll be posting everyday to a Instagram account I set up at @MtAiry125.

The plan is to take images from all over the town and community. I hope to capture the charm, style and character of what makes Mount Airy such a great little town.

A project the will certainly push my photography in new ways. After a month I feel like I’m just getting warmed up and am thinking about new images to capture. Some days will be just snapshots and other will be opportunities to really try out some fun ideas. How often do I have a reason to take a picture of a 7-Eleven and try it make it look cool?
